Das Team des Fachgebietes Sustainable Engineering & Management (SEM)forscht zu Fragestellungen der nachhaltigen Produktentwicklung sowie der Nachhaltigkeit von Wertschöpfungsketten. Aktuell stehen dabei Themen der Circular Economy (Closed-loop und Open-loop-Recycling) im Fokus, die interdisziplinär mit Kollegen der Kunststoff-, Holztechnik und Messtechnik bearbeitet werden, um eine hochwertige Kaskadennutzung von Sekundärrohstoffen zu erreichen und die Umwelt zu entlasten. Darüber hinaus beschäftigt sich das Team mit der technischen und methodischen Anwendung und Umsetzung der Digitalisierung der Industrie und dessen Nutzung für die Ökobilanzierung (Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)). The Sustainable Engineering & Management (SEM) team conducts research on sustainable product development and the sustainability of value chains. Currently, the focus is on topics of the circular economy (closed-loop and open-loop recycling), which are worked on interdisciplinarily with colleagues from plastics technology, wood technology and measurement technology in order to achieve high-quality cascade use of secondary raw materials and to reduce the burden on the environment. In addition, the team deals with the technical and methodological application and implementation of the digitalisation of industry and its use for life cycle assessment (LCA).
